ibis Styles kicks off an unprecedented operation: #captureibisstyles

Fancy “capturing” the quirky designer objects in ibis Styles hotels and taking them home?

Paris, February 17th, 2015 – Have you always dreamed of displaying quirky designer objects in your living room? Can you imagine owning the latest Constance Guisset, Xavier Pauchard, Thierry D’Istria or Charles & Ray Eames that surprised you in one of the ibis Styles hotels? As part of its drive to make the world of design accessible to as many people as possible, the brand has decided to go for it and will be running a downright wacky, totally connected and 100% design-centered operation called “Capture ibis Styles” from March 13th to May 13th, 2015. The idea is simple: on the Instagram account @captureibisstyles, you can win the super creative pieces signed by well-known or up-and-coming designers that are in the brand’s showcase hotels!

In a nutshell, ibis Styles is 250 hotels and 250 styles. Each hotel has its own distinctive character revolving around a central theme steeping its various areas: the Olympic Games in the ibis Styles Paris Massena, wines in the ibis Styles Madrid Prado, textiles at the ibis Styles Lille Centre Grand Place, aviation at the ibis Styles Sao Paulo Anhembi and so forth. Design is one of this brand’s cornerstones. It’s all about treating its guests to constantly renewed contemporary creativity with unusual, unprecedented and unpredictable experiences. The “Capture ibis Styles” operation is perfectly in tune with this approach!


The ibis Styles hotels are full of quirky, ultra trendy designer objects and the brand’s plan is to focus on their originality and give each of object a symbolic price tag in “likes” on Instagram, so that the general public can win them.

From March 13th to May 13th 2015, plenty of people, including ibis Styles customers, will be able to win the objects up for grabs with “Capture ibis Styles”! This all-digital operation will revolve around Instagram, the photo-sharing social network that fosters an aesthetic, visual approach.

This unique international experience is the BETC Digital agency’s brainchild, and will be running in 6 countries (France, Germany, the UK, Italy, Spain and Brazil).

15 ‘showcase’ hotels will be staging four designer objects in their public areas. Among the full range of rewards, customers will be pleased to find Alessandro Guidolin’s Temperino stool, Godefroy de Virieu’s shuttlecock lamp or Tejo Remy’s Milkbottle lamp.

To take the experience even further, the hotels have also brought in up-and-coming designers to complete their existing collections. The brand works on a regular basis with a “laboratory” for high-potential, contemporary designers and is offering a selection of their latest creations: Sybille Pfeiffer’s stag-head coat rack, Hanna Emelie Ernsting’s eminently original Petstools Ella pouf, or Pierre Stadelmann’s endearing off-the-wall Waaf lamp.

To take part all you have to do is:

  • Take a photo of one of the four designer objects – which you will have no trouble spotting in the hotel lobby, bar or restaurant, thanks to their Capture ibis Styles label.

  • Post your photo on Instagram with both the #captureibisstyles hashtag and your chosen piece’s hashtag (# and name)

  • Get as many people as possible to “like” your photo: the number of “likes” you need is on the label presenting the object like a museum plate.

  • Once you have “paid” the “price” with “likes”, we will raffle the prize when the operation is over to find out who wins the piece you want.

To enjoy this all-digital experience, log on to the Instagram account @captureibisstyles and stroll around a virtual ibis Styles hotel looking for quirky objects. Then you have to “like” the photo of your favorite object to increase its “like” count. When it reaches the quota to qualify, we will raffle it and one lucky winner will take it home.
